Laura is a writer, actor and published poet. She trained at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts where she graduated with a 1st class Honours Degree in Acting. Her short plays have been produced at Theatre 503, The Old Red Lion, SLAM and The Pleasance. Her monologue ‘FIFTEEN’ was shortlisted for The Pleasance Theatre’s Young Writers Competition and received a public performance in December 2018.
Her debut play ‘BLUE TIGHTS, RED KNICKERS AND AN ’S’ ON HER VEST’ debuted at The Bread and Roses Theatre in July 2018 and was produced by her company Thematic Theatre. The one woman show explores anxiety and workplace bullying and during it’s debut run, raised over £130 for Mind. The show then returned for a short run at The Lion and Unicorn Theatre as part of the 14th annual Camden Fringe.
Laura is currently part of Mrs C’s 2020 Writer’s Collective, a year long development programme where she plans to redraft ‘BLUE TIGHTS, RED KNICKERS AND AN ’S’ON HER VEST’ and take the play to schools, universities and workplaces to raise awareness for positive mental health.
She is also under commission by Proforca Theatre to write a monologue as part of the ‘FEEL MORE’ series at The Lion and Unicorn which premiered at The Lion and Unicorn Theatre from the 25th - 28th February 2020. The show is an extension of the company’s previous production ‘FEEL’ and explores the lives of several characters and their search for happiness, love and fulfilment.
She also writes bespoke showreel and showcase material and delivers writing workshops across universities, drama schools and colleges. She has perviously taught at Italia Conti, Queens College and most recently The Academy of Performance Training (APT) in Guildford.
